mst_maparea
Until the Vita game was decompiled and dumped, the community had no numbering scheme for Worlds: The Japanese Kancolle Vita Wiki uses 南方連絡海域-4 (world_name-ID), and there was no Chinese Kancolle Vita wiki.
It is our opinion that numeric world notations are critical for accessibility by non-Japanese speakers, much like how Japan numbers subway stations to help tourists. Due to the multilingual nature of the world Kantai Collection community, one stage could be referred to by many different names by different wikis, and translations could change as the community vies to create more accurate renditions.
Thus, to promote accessibility, to avoid confusion from translation updates, and for internal reference by quest translations, we will use this standard notation in all languages of the Vita translation:
- Long: World (Vita) 3-2

Short: [V3-2]
- V for Vita. As opposed to [W3-2] for the browser-based Kancolle game.
Map Areas and stages are numbered internally by the game developers in mst_maparea.xml
. However, these were not made public and are not visible in game. We introduce this numbering scheme anew to the community, and will reference it this way in quests. The world names are also reflected in https://github.com/BASLQC/kc-vita-translation/wiki/Glossary#locations
