This is the handbook for the JGI data science team.

Contributing

This website is a Quarto website, hosted on GitHub pages.

• You can run a local web server for testing using: quarto preview.

• A GitHub action will be triggered on a commit to the main branch which will regenerate and publish the site. This means you can also make changes via the GitHub interface with cloning the repo to your local machine.

• Don't forget to add yourself to our acknowledgements page.

Style guide

• We prefer "we do X", "we recommend X" or "X might be useful", instead of over "you must do X".

• This handbook contains our recommendations and factual information for the team, but we try not to make it too opinionated where it doesn't need to be.

• Please write Markdown with one sentence per line, rather than using a character limit per line.
