As I had mentioned in your previous PR: #19 (comment) you are talking to the abyss.

It seems like me doing this to, because you had ignored my comment and a send a new PR.

From what I understood is that you asked me to submit a patch instead.

@Yukti-09 as @yurikoles stated this isn’t the contest place to submit patches.

Couple of other issues;

  • Homebrew like to only support the most recent versions of macOS
  • Winehq packages haven’t been built since Wine-5.7
  • The brew command needs to be modified
  • The Winehq macOS wiki section is a better place for this (it’s already current)

The command should be;

brew cask install --no-quarantine (selected wine package)

Unless the --no-quarantineis passed brew will automatically add the quarantine flag and as Winehq packages are not code-signed & notarized this will cause the binaries to not function as expected.

Instead of increasing both soft and hard fileno limit in systemd
instructions, increase just the hard limit. Soft limit needs to stay at
1024 for compatibility with programs using select() instead of newer
poll()/epoll(), otherwise such programs might fail.

MSYS does a `dup(sockfd)` via DuplicateHandle.
Unfortunately that way the new handle is not contained in
the ws2_32.socket_list.

This change just disables this check to workaround this.

jeremyd2019 pushed a commit to jeremyd2019/wine that referenced this pull request Jun 17, 2024
MSYS does a `dup(sockfd)` via DuplicateHandle.
Unfortunately that way the new handle is not contained in
the ws2_32.socket_list.

This change just disables this check to workaround this.

bylaws pushed a commit to bylaws/wine that referenced this pull request Sep 6, 2024
Instead of increasing both soft and hard fileno limit in systemd
instructions, increase just the hard limit. Soft limit needs to stay at
1024 for compatibility with programs using select() instead of newer
poll()/epoll(), otherwise such programs might fail.
