A simple generalization of two_columns.mplstyle.

This is currently a function modifying matplotlib.rcParams, which is not great.
Perhaps it should read the parameters and make a figure + axes instead?

Also the name is terrible.

This is now a new method which returns figure and axes objects.

It does not change any global rcParams.
