Welcome to the medevice wiki.
We are a group of people defining and building a diabetes data bus. This bus will support data formats for blood glucose (BG) readings, insulin pump data, continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings and other data that of use and interest to people affected by diabetes. We intend to release the specification for the bus so that anyone can develop software or firmware to put data onto or take data off it.
This data bus will not support device commands to control insulin delivery. It may support commands that request data for defined time periods from a device. Allowing access to delivery device commands would introduce a huge risk factor and make it impossible for the FDA to support or allow this diabetes data bus effort.
