Version 2.1.0

Still based on the 783 public release of FlyWire but with substantial updates and revisions to cell types and other annotations. This is the version reported on in the Schlegel et al., Nature (2024) and Dorkenwald et al., Nature (2024).

Highlights:

• updated cell_type for 3.3k neurons (mostly ANs, see below)
• ascending neurons have been given preliminary cell_type and cell_class corresponding to their innervation pattern
• added 50 new hemibrain types
• minor fixes in flow, super_class, cell_class, ito_lee_hemilineage, side and status

Version 2.0.0

This represents the first major revision of annotations. Highlights are:

• with this release annotations are now based principally on the updated FlyWire segmentation version 783
• we now provide cell types the majority of neurons in both central brain and optic lobes
• most optic lobe neurons have been given a cell class based on neuropil innervation (e.g. "ME" for medulla-intrinsic neurons or "ME>LO" for neurons that project from the medulla into the lobula)
