Not sure if you want to do this, but this is the current version of ImageMagick: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php#unix

I didn't create this patch (it's not my fork), but I did install it.

Seem 6.9.5-7 cannot find on imagemagick download page anymore,
http://www.imagemagick.org/download/releases/ImageMagick-6.9.5-7.tar.gz

Is that possible upgrade to latest version?
http://www.imagemagick.org/download/releases/ImageMagick-7.0.2-10.tar.gz

Is it possible to just switch to the URL to the 'latest' release, rather than having to manually update every time ImageMagick has a release?

This lists all the downloads: http://www.imagemagick.org/download/
And it looks like the URL http://www.imagemagick.org/download/ImageMagick.tar.gz links to the latest released version.

I think the only thing that would preclude that is the per-version caching we do in https://github.com/ello/heroku-buildpack-imagemagick/blob/master/bin/compile#L16 - that having been said, it looks like the generic link that @cllns posted about does untar to a versioned folder, so we could probably just cache it there.

I'm not going to have time to look at this for a couple of days unfortunately (things are crazy hectic right now), but if someone else wants to do a PR then I will happily merge it!

http://www.imagemagick.org/download/releases/ImageMagick-6.9.5-8.tar.gz responds 404 and it seems that there is no .gz files in http://www.imagemagick.org/download/releases/ anymore.

Is it possible to resolve this soon? I can't deploy to a production app because the buildpack isn't finding the 6.9.5-8 on the server. Thanks!

it seems to me like there should be a different buildpack for each imagemagick version, no? I wouldn't want my imagemagick version to switch inside my app without me knowing

What I'm saying is this buildpack should be renamed heroku-buildpack-imagemagick695 and then a new buildpack should be created for heroku-buildpack-imagemagick702 pointing to the newer imagemagick
