README for OpenFOAM-Intel
#
OpenFOAM is a free, open source computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software package released by the OpenFOAM Foundation. It has a large user base across most areas of engineering and science, from both commercial and academic organisations. OpenFOAM has an extensive range of features to solve anything from complex fluid flows involving chemical reactions, turbulence and heat transfer, to solid dynamics and electromagnetics.
OpenFOAM is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the
terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software
Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later
version. See the file COPYING
in this directory or

This repository contains processor-specific developments contributed by Intel to the OpenFOAM Foundation that are being evaluated and not yet included the main OpenFOAM-dev repository.
This work includes developments for the new Intel Xeon Phi processor
code-named Knights Landing (KNL). The main OpenFOAM respository already has
support for the KNL target with both the Intel and GNU compiler by setting the
WM_COMPILER
to either IccKNL
or GccKNL
. This repository contains the
following:
libhbm | A wrapper library for handling high bandwidth memory when running in flat memory mode on the KNL. |
Optimized smoothers | Updated versions that are optimized for the KNL. |
Scalable motorbike benchmark | A modified version of the OpenFOAM tutorial case supporting different resolution meshes. |
Patches | Patches that can be applied to the OpenFOAM main repository |
