Cadence is a visual analytics platform for event sequence analysis. It includes a variety of advanced capabilities designed to support high-dimensional datasets including hierarchical aggregation and selection bias monitoring.
The software in this repository is made available under the GNU General Public License (GPL) v3.
This software operates requires Java and the Apache Tomcat web application server. The software has been developed using Java OpenJDK v12 and Apache Tomcat v9.
Users of the Cadence system also need a modern web browser. Testing has been limited to the Chrome web browser, but there are no known issues with other modern browsers at this time. If you observe problems due to JavaScript differences between browsers, please open an issue to report your findings. However, the software is provided "as is" with no support.
Key aspects of the Cadence visual analytics platform are described in the following papers, both of which have been accepted for in IEEE TVCG in January 2020 and will be presented at IEEE VIS as part of the VAST program:
Do you have ideas for new features or extensions to Cadence? Do you think this software would be useful for your work but don't know how to get started?
Please reach out to talk about your ideas. We're happy to work with collaboration partners and look forward to hearing from you. For contact information, please refer to this web page.
All Cadence software was developed at the Visual Analytics and Communication Lab (VACLab) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The VACLab is affiliated with the School of Information and Library Science and the Carolina Health Informatics Program.
