What does this do exactly? If I understand it correctly, it keeps the terminal's cursor as is (i.e., whatever was configured in the terminal emulator/shell). I think I would like to have a blinking bar in this app though, to keep it consistent across terminals and it (IMO) provides a better typing experience.

You're right, but one annoying thing is that the cursor ALWAYS resets to a steady block (which may not be what the user's terminal is configured to use) once youre done and i just thought it was annoying typing reset after every session
