Modules

Below are modules that may be useful to enhance your Lancer experience. Note that we can't guarantee compatibility, but anything here has been used by someone playing Lancer at one point.

Unless specified otherwise, these should all be available using the Foundry module browser

Originally based off a list Flintwyrm put together in PilotNET, updated and curated since.

In alphabetical order, not merit-based.

Should be compatible with each other and the system as of last time of page edit.

Highly recommended

  • Hex Size Support - provides options to offset token art (useful for square and gridless too!), tweaking token border size & colour, and flipping the orientation of even-sized tokens.

Narrative Clocks

These are the recommended modules for using narrative progress clocks. They each offer a different UX. You don't need all of them, but they shouldn't interfere with each other if you want the different options.

UI/UX Tweaks

These can add shortcuts to various features, add or tweak information displays or add new UI elements

  • Bar Brawl - Customize your token's bars to your heart's content!
    • Here is a repo with a bunch of brawl configs.
  • Combat Booster - Mark whose turn it currently is, among other features. Works well with Lancer Initiative.
  • Combat Tracker Effect Tooltips - shows a tooltip when hovering over an effect icon in the combat tracker.
  • Chat Portrait - so that the picture of the PC and NPC show up with roll and chat messages.
  • Dice Tray - to have buttons to roll dice instead of typing a function
  • Drag Ruler - Show how far you've dragged your tokens, and even indicate if you're going over your speed!
    • You can use actor.system.speed to indicate your tokens' speed
    • Lancer Speed Provider - Accounts for boost from overcharge as well as status conditions that affect movement.
    • routinglib - Allows pathfinding around walls
  • Ownership Viewer - for easier Permission change on actors and items.
  • PopOut! - Pop out any sheet into its own window. Essential for anyone who wants to use multiple screens!
  • Show Art - Pull up that fancy PC/NPC art you commissioned, no more low-res portraits!
  • Status Icon Counters - add numbers to status icons on tokens, similar to Roll20's functionality.
  • Terrain Height Tools Quickly paint hexes or squares with specified fill and stroke styles and calculate line of sight with a ruler or LoS checker that automatically finds the optimal points for computing LoS.
  • Token Action HUD Lancer - Adds a floating bar allowing access to actions and utility functions without opening the sheet. Powered by Token Action HUD Core.
  • Token Tooltip Alt - Want to see E-Def, Evasion and more by just hovering over a token? Now you can! Fully configurable to meet your needs.
    • Here is a repo with a bunch of demo configs.
    • We have a sample setup here
  • Quick Insert - quickly search for items, actors, classes, anything you can insert into a scene or sheet.

Audio/Visual Effects

Eye and ear candy. Some of these have involved setups that may require more prep time.

  • Dice So Nice! - so you have 3d Dice that Roll on the screen
  • FXMaster - for weather and filter Effects.
  • Lancer Combat Banner - shows a banner across the screen at the start of each combatant's turn.
  • Lancer QoL - a wide array of quality of life improvements and automation, including visual FX for a few common statuses. Check out the module's page and wiki for more details on its features. Be warned that the visual FX can be taxing on low-end machines, so be conscious of your players' experience when enabling those.
  • Lancer Weapon FX - automatically adds weapon attack animations for all official Massif content.
  • Less Fog - so Fog of war is not just black and players can see explored area in the map.
  • Maestro - allows for sound effects on item usage and turn start (see notes).
  • Tile Scroll - Scroll, rotate, and repeat tiles over time. Useful for vehicle maps.
  • Wall Height - for messing with line of sight.
