Project Overview When planning our wedding, we found that the available wedding registry options were too limiting and didn't meet our needs. We wanted a platform that allowed us to curate a personalized list of items from various online stores, offering our guests more flexibility and better prices. To solve this, I developed a custom wedding registry store that allows couples to easily add products from different online retailers into a single, cohesive registry.
Another amazing bonus was we could go away on honeymoon and basically buy everything once we go back home, so we didn't need to worry about delivery while not home.
- Custom Product Integration: Add products from any online store, providing a personalized and diverse selection.
- Better Pricing: Since products come from different sources, guests can find the best prices and potentially save money.
- Simple and Intuitive Interface: Designed to be user-friendly for the guests, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Guest Purchase Tracking: Products were automatically grayed out when purchased (some webhook magic).
- Firebase: Used to host and store images (since I was cheap and hosted on Heroku free tier at the time).
- Strapi: Implemented as a headless CMS for managing content and product entries.
- Next.js: Front-end.
- Snipcart: For transactions and purchase tracking.
