I just tried runing it again against RockyLinux 8.4 and got the following error message:

ERROR! vars file vars/{{ ansible_os_family }}.yml was not found
Could not find file on the Ansible Controller.
If you are using a module and expect the file to exist on the remote, see the remote_src option

this is strange. Please show the contents of the directory

I just run it again and this time is coplaining that file Rocky.yml is missing as it is getting it from ansible_os_family:

Could not find or access 'vars/Rocky.yml'

It is strange because the variable ansible_os_family must return "RedHat"

example:

ansible master -m setup | grep ansible_os_family
"ansible_os_family": "RedHat",

I was able to reproduce this problem with ansible version 2.10

[rocky@pgnode01 postgresql_cluster]$ ansible-playbook --version
ansible-playbook 2.10.14

  configured module search path = ['/home/rocky/.ansible/plugins/modules', '/usr/share/ansible/plugins/modules']

  python version = 3.6.8 (default, May 19 2021, 03:00:47) [GCC 8.4.1 20200928 (Red Hat 8.4.1-1)]

[rocky@pgnode01 postgresql_cluster]$ ansible master -m setup | grep ansible_os_family
        "ansible_os_family": "Rocky",

I can confidently say that this is an Ansible bug, I will think about how to get around this bug for version 2.10, but while I can recommend you to update your Ansible to the latest version.
