This should also include:

  • Process for how we accept resources
  • Secretariat responsibilities, e.g. note-taking, chairing meetings etc

Any chairing meetings guidance should talk through:

  1. Our process for running the meeting (go through In Progress and update, move any approved issues from Ideas to Backlog or Planned, moved anything needed from Backlog to Planned, reprioritise Planned).
  2. How we take notes (on HackMD, record conversations + actions, update relevant issues on GH after the meeting, clean notes and make available on this repo

This should also include:

  • How to join CMWG meetings and be involved with decision making processes

Thoughts from @JimMadge: We should think about what synchronous actions we're taking, e.g. does it make sense for this meeting to be the place where we agree what work to take forward, or should that be done asynchronously?

It's probably ok for now, but this may need to be updated as the community grows.

Similar with what we do in these meetings - we may need to split running through the board with discussing new ideas, but can cross that bridge when we come to it

Probably also worth creating an issue per meeting which people can populate with specific agenda items they want to discuss (and maybe a non-GH way of doing so too).

I have updated this to reflect this being the CMWG, which is different to the Steering Group:

  • CMWG is the general, open, all purpose Community Management Group
  • the Steering group is a closed group of elected (or similar, bear with the wording) members who take on escalated decisions etc.

This is part of #18 now and different from a steering group, rather than this superseeding the CMWG there will be distinct responsibilities.

CMWG initial ideas is to run and organise events, comms etc. while Steering Group has an active role in creating and updating Governance processes, official docs, WG creation, endorsing... mainly as a group to step in when things need scalation

Action: complete this charter. We may not send it for the standard two week review period since this is so intricately linked with overall Governance and has de-facto existed for ages, but it should be published.
