I've noticed a very annoying issue when I open mate menu and then select a window in the taskbar, the item in the taskbar is selected but the window is not shown and is difficult to make any applications get to the front again.

I'm running debian testing.

I've attached a video showing this problem.

I'm only experiencing this bug if mate-menu is on the same panel as the window list. Debian Stretch, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and Arch.
