Better use Gitter. The community is already using it, so there's no reason to switch.
Also, it is being rebuilt on an open Matrix protocol: https://matrix.org/blog/2020/12/07/gitter-now-speaks-matrix
For example, one can access the main todo.txt room using any Matrix client: #todotxt_Lobby:gitter.im
