after automatic 3.2.0 update theta guardian node fails with "FATAL Failed to load or create key: could not decrypt key with given password"

I started up my node and apparently it auto updated and suddenly asked my password, which it never does and I had forgotten and it might take a few tries to get.
I got one try to put it in and there doesn't seem to be a way to fix the password.
Now it always fails to start with "FATAL Failed to load or create key: could not decrypt key with given password".

I've uninstalled and reininstalled and that doesn't work.
I've tried installing the older version but that doesn't work because it instantly autoupdates to the new version without my permission.
any ideas?
Its taken months to try to load the full node so I don't really want to start over.

the old version was 3.1.0 and the new updated version is 3.2.0

Don’t listen to anyone on this chat room. It’s made up of mostly scammers, who will either send you a fake but authentic looking sign in page. After you sign in they will take all your cryptos. The only legit support are the ones suggested on the Theta site in the top right corner.
