If I understood correctly there is a problem in the last formula from this section of the manuscript:
In this part:
There should be the "minus modulus" in the argument of Ф. Not the "modulus minus".
Imagine the situation when you have all negative directions of Delta_i, then all your Z_i values will be positive as like as Overall Z-score. For example Z = 5. Then P-value will be 2 * 0.9... > 1. P-value is the probability - it cannot be more than 1.
Please, correct me
