Win+Z Shortcut Key Taken in Win11, Can't Change It After Every Boot #513
-
In Win11, I set the Win+Z shortcut to activate the toolbar, but it keeps saying it's being used by explorer.exe. Every time I boot up, it tells me I can't change the shortcut and I have to set it manually again, only to do it all over next time I start the computer. Is there a way to force override this system shortcut setting? This setup worked fine for me in Win10, it's only since switching to Win11 that I've run into this issue. |

Hi @SyniLSN, unfortunately this is not currently possible. Whenever EverythingToolbar starts automatically after boot, Windows explorer will already be started, which blocks most Windows key shortcuts from being overridden. You might notice that re-setting the shortcut in EverythingToolbar triggers a restart of Windows explorer. That allows the shortcut to be set by EverythingToolbar but I don't want that to happen on every boot of the machine. There is currently an open issue for that here: #249 |
