My name is Patryk and I am a researcher born in Poland, Krakow. When I finished my PhD I moved to Spain and started working in an underwater robotics lab, at the University of Girona. I was always feeling a connection to the sea and its exploration. My dream is to one day board a submersible and visit the abyss myself...
Since I got my first PC I started looking for ways to create something, and started programming and playing with 3D graphics. During my PhD I started the development of the Stonefish simulator, which I saw as my first serious project that may actually help other people, instead of ending up forgotten on my disk.
In my work as a researcher I am mainly interested in control system design, for the underwater navigation and manipulation tasks. This is one of the reasons why I care about simulating well the dynamics and hydrodynamics of the underwater robots, which I tried to capture in Stonefish.
I am trying to add new features and fix the bugs as often as I can, but I have to do it in my free time, because the development is not funded by any project at my lab. I have a lot of ideas for moving forward with Stonefish and integrating it with ROS2, so your support is very much appreciated!
Thank you!
