Access in rules to auth user

How i should access to auth user from DTO, because i need to have this data inside my rule, for now i'm doing this, but i'm not sure if this is correct way, Any ideas ?

public static function rules(): array
    {
        $user = request()->user();

        return [
            'name'  => ['required', 'string', 'min:3', 'max:255'],
            'email' => ['required', 'email', 'max:255', Rule::unique(User::class, 'email')->ignore($user->id)],
        ];
    }

Those are user profile update rules, right?

Can be simplified a little

    public static function rules(Request $request): array
    {
        return [
            'name' => ['required', 'string', 'min:3', 'max:255'],
            'email' => [
                'required',

                Rule::unique(User::class, 'email')->ignore($request->user())
            ],
        ];
    }

Thanks for this solution. In my case I had to remove the () and just do ignore($request->user) for the tests to pass. Although I don't really know the difference
