did you try with --force?

(we'll release a version with react v17 support soon, but curious if there's a workaround for the time being)

I'm having the same issue here. --force does not help. Is there anything non-obvious to do here other than just updating a few dependencies? I'm happy to help out a fellow YC backed company and open up a PR if you'd like.
