I notice that the project only uses experimental data sets. I had a look at Philosophy and Datasets but I could not find an explanation for why simulated data sets are not used. There must be one or two methods which lack unit tests and perform poorly even finding simple signals with minimal noise. It would be convenient to pinpoint those. Something fancy like scDesign 3 could be useful to simulate by.
