Regarding some parameter issues using the api

Hi, I'm just a beginner and now I'm trying to learn to use the api and use the gpt-turbo-3 model. But after reading the document I have some questions that I don't fully understand. So hope this helps me.

I have two questions about the following message code

1. If I just want to compare chatgpt with the article and ask it to help make a summary, then how should I write the array in the message?
   is that so?

       {"role": "system", "content": "Help me summarize the introduction of about 250 words"},
       {"role":"user","content":text}

2. Or message is actually just a conversation history, that is, every time you input something to chatgpt and every time you reply, the answer will be put into the array?
