Good idea. Will look into it.

Having a pop-up to show the shortcuts would also be useful. Perhaps something like on Soundcloud:

Implementation notes:

The (hidden) menu bar already has shortcuts, so this could implemented as part of the menu bar revamp which I've been wanting to do...
