Navcoin Core is the original Navcoin client and it builds the backbone of the network. However, it downloads and stores the entire history of Navcoin transactions (which is currently several GBs); depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization process can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or more.
The following are some helpful notes on how to run Navcoin on your native platform.
Unpack the files into a directory and run:
bin/navcoin-qt
(GUI) orbin/navcoind
(headless)
Unpack the files into a directory, and then run navcoin-qt.exe.
Drag Navcoin-Core to your applications folder, and then run Navcoin-Core.
The following are developer notes on how to build Navcoin on your native platform. They are not complete guides, but include notes on the necessary libraries, compile flags, etc.
The Navcoin repo's root README contains relevant information on the development process and automated testing.
