Summary

See Scale assign maintainers, today, we rely on Option B, B2. Request PR review to maintainers.

But at some point, we might need to offload this from Tier 1 agents.

So the solution instead is to:

  • Store all the maintainers in Product owners with a mapping with each GitHub labels
  • Have a GitHub Action that requests reviews based on the label used.

Equivalent task for issues: [support] GitHub Action to assign issues based on product scope.
