Instructions

This file contains the instructions for the following:

  • Installation
    • Game
    • Python
  • Running the Game

Installation

Game

  1. Install from https://github.com/mime-r/Dungeon.py/archive/main.zip
  2. Unzip "Dungeon.py-main.zip"
  3. Move "Dungeon.py-main" folder to desired place Note: Ensure that all files in the folder are kept in the SAME place.

Python

Download Python3 Installer from https://www.python.org/downloads/ -> Make sure to choose 3.x versions

Dungeon.py is known to work in the following versions:

  • Python 3.7.5

It may not work as intended on other versions

When at the Installer

  1. Check/Tick "Add Python 3.x to PATH"
  2. Click "Customize installation"
  3. Make sure "pip" is checked/ticked
  4. Click "Next"
  5. Make sure "Associate files with Python", "Add Python to environment variables" is checked/ticked
  6. Click "Install"

Running the Game

Open the game folder
Navigate to the "Run" folder,
run any of the following accordingly:

command_prompt.bat > to run in command prompt
python.bat > to run with python
windows_terminal.bat > to run in windows terminal (recommended)
linux_terminal.sh > to run in linux terminal

To use windows_terminal.bat, you need to install Windows Terminal from Microsoft Store
Install from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-terminal/9n0dx20hk701
