Your issue subject is correct. But this is a bug for Gmail App for Android and not for this project.
Email-Blueprints are not able to fix bugs for Gmail App for Android.

If you think Responsive=@media query support then YES, you can't have responsive emails in Gmail App because Gmail App does not support @media queries.

There are tricks to make email "Adapt" to narrow screens without the use of media queries: this is often called "Hybrid coding":

The blueprints in this repository are not Hybrid.
