There's an upcoming go tool as part of the Go distribuition that's not entirely the same but similar, probably enough so that maintaining mage becomes less interesting.

Mage has been on hiatus, as I haven't had time to work on it and have not had many serious offers of help to maintain it. I hope to be able to spend more time on it in the coming weeks and always welcome offers to help maintain it. There are things I definitely want to get done, like flag support. And I know a lot of other people have feature's they're looking to do as well.

I appreciate you filing this, because I really don't want mage to die. It was a passion project and I still really love the tool. It's just a lot of time and effort to respond to every issue and PR by myself.
