Mintinstall 8.0.5 Unsupported packages #210
Comments
I don't see this package. Can you provide more info? Did you just upgrade from 19.3->20? Does it still show up if you refresh the package list from the upper-right-corner menu? |
Could you post output of following command.

I think the package was deleted but the configuration files were not purge. Can you try use "Purge residual configuration" option on Mintsource's Maintenance tab. |
Problem solved by purging the residual configuration. I had to refresh the package list afterwards before it was finally left out of Mintinstall. |
As an experiment I did a clean install of LM19.3 in a virtual machine. After applying all the updates and rebooting, I installed 2 packages (which are being obsoleted in LM 20 Cinnamon), revelation and gcstar. Immediately after installing the 2 packages, I removed both of them. So I didn't use them at all. Then I started the upgrading towards LM 20. The upgrade went well and after rebooting the VM, both obsoleted packages still show up in mintinstall. After purging the residual configuration, they are gone. Is there a way to see which packages have been obsoleted? For instance, I was using the gcstar collections-manager on a computer with LM 19.3. After upgrading to LM Mint 20, gcstar was still working ok. Then I wanted to install this package on a clean installed computer with LM 20, but as a surprise the package was no longer available in the repositories. apt policy revelation apt policy gcstar |
Mintinstall 8.0.5 contains references to unsupported packages. As a consequence the installer keeps searching for the specified package.
Example : the obsolete package revelation is still shown in the search-query.
