This summarizes the Zulip thread on curve families and also provides links to authoritative sources for most of the curves.

It sadly lacks visual examples. The graph could be improved greatly by annotating it with additional information.

Also a flaw of this PR is that the math doesn't render. That should probably be fixed before commit.

Thanks! I merged this even though it needs improvement, mostly not to block on it (not sure how much time I'll have today).

Thinking about it on my walk, I believe a great way to visualize the superellipse range is just to draw two concentric superellipses using the curve, like this: (cubic Bézier on the left, quadratic Bézier on the right):
