We have released calc v2.15.0.6 because it contains a fix of a memory leak in zrandom.c. And while the memory leak may not impact those who do not use the random builtin function (a Blum-Blum-Shub implementation), and while the pull request of commit a30a518 provided by @ashamedbit has not been widely tested, we nevertheless believe that the patch is on good order. We have been planning to establish a calc v2 / calc v3 fork point as part of our current calc v3 plans. These plans include a calc code-base-wide K&R-like reformat (likely along the lines suggested by @pmetzger). We will let the time we plan to spend (a referenced in comment 1873595215 to include the testing of the above mentioned patch. By the time calc v2.15.1.0 is released as a calc v2 / calc v3 fork point, the above mentioned patch will have been tested to the point where it can be consider part of a stable calc release. |
