Cannot steer/row boats in Vivecraft 1.17

As stated in the title, upon entering a boat in Vivecraft 1.17 I was unable to use the rowing motions nor steer it without doing rowing motions, and instead the movement was controlled by the regular trigger only allowing me to go in a straight line. I did not have this issue in Vivecraft 1.16.5, which I had only been playing hours earlier. I don't know if this is a known issue or not because the Vivecraft forums told me "boat not working"/any other word combo was too generic a word to search up. It seems like an oversight to me. Unsure if this problem extends to other kinds of mounts.
