The spec proto has a metadata field (https://github.com/in-toto/attestation/blob/main/spec/predicates/vulns_02.md#example), consistent with the example given. But the proto definition, and the language-specific objects generated from it, call it scan_metadata (https://github.com/in-toto/attestation/blob/main/protos/in_toto_attestation/predicates/vulns/v0.2/vulns.proto#L14).
