Considering the addition of disk io columns, it would be great to also get a meter to go along with it.

Yes, please! It would be super useful instead of using iotop.

The problwm is in that meter, how do you define "100% disk I/O"?

Based off the disk interface type.
Set it to 90% of the real world throughput of each type of interface.
