Using Ganglia on OpenBSD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This version has been tested on the following OpenBSD releases:
- OpenBSD 5.3
Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. install several prerequisite packages:
pkg_add libfuse automake-1.9 autoconf-2.69 apr pcre
(if you wish to run gmetad, install rrdtool)
1.a set env varialbes:
export AUTOMAKE_VERSION=1.9
export AUTOCONF_VERSION=2.69
2. run bootstrap script in the root folder of this repository,
note any problems:
./bootstrap
3. If that completes OK, run configure:
./configure --with-libconfuse=/usr/local
4. compile:
make && make install
5. configuring:
mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/ganglia/conf.d
gmond -t > /usr/local/etc/ganglia/gmond.conf
5.a manually edit that gmond.conf file and in modules {} section
put absolute path for all mod.*.so strings, that is in vim:
%s/mod.*.so/\/usr\/local\/lib\/ganglia\/&/g
5.b create an init script from sshd:
cp /etc/rc.d/{sshd,gmond}
edit it, and replace:
- daemon with /usr/local/sbin/gmond
- daemon_args="-c /usr/local/etc/ganglia/gmond.conf -p /var/run/gmond.pid"
5. running:
/etc/rc.d/gmond start|stop
6. setting it to run at boot time: refer to OpenBSD documentation.
