There are some nice projects now that provide "modems" for retro rigs that actually just connect over WiFi to a TCP port on a remote server. They're even available fairly cheaply on sites like Tindie.
Now that we have PPP support (for PPTP) it should be relatively straightforward to add PPP-over-TCP as well. This would allow people on retro rigs another method to connect to an ipxbox server.
