Like a previous report from 2023, this does not work on M Macs at all. Installed and reinstalled through the store and directly through GitHub, it installs fine and appears on the Stream Deck manager app, drag onto the Stream Deck but it does nothing at all. Short and long press, nothing. Restart the Stream Deck, nothing. Named the button, changed places, restarted the computer. It just does nothing.

It works for me on my M1 from a marketplace install (v1.4), but all the button seems to do it increment the title. So if you want to label what the counter is for, you can't
This limits the use of this, unless you use it with a specific icon. In my case, I wanted it on a colored background (using the 'CSS Color' icon pack), which counts as an icon already.
I could mentally associate the background color with the thing I'm counting, but I don't trust my brain for that ;)
@CommsMantis I believe the issue is you named the button. As @jschuur mentioned, the counter plugin uses the title to display the count, so if there is a user entered title overriding the count, then the plugin will not work. In Stream Deck 6.0 we've introduced a UserTitleEnabled flag in the manifest.json file. Setting the UserTitleEnabled flag would be a great first issue for an open source contributor!
