cdnjs served nearly 208 billion requests in April 2021. 🖥
cdnjs used a massive consumption of 3.78 PB of data to serve these requests this month. 📤
That's just under 126 terabytes of data and 6.9 billion requests every day (averaged). 🤯
In April, each request to cdnjs (on average) used only 18.20 KB of data. 🔍
Library highlights
The top five library assets remained the same as last month once again, with WebFontLoader
(1.6.28/webfontloader.js) leading at 7.4 billion requests for the file.
In second place remained jQuery (3.3.1/jquery.min.js), receiving 5.7 billion requests, followed by FontAwesome's
main CSS file (4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css) and font file (4.7.0/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2), receiving 5.3
billion and 3.8 billion requests respectively.
jQuery MouseWheel (3.1.13/jquery.mousewheel.min.js) remained in fifth place, receiving 3.4 billion requests in the
month for the single file, consuming only 7.3 TB of bandwidth.
The top library overall in the top 100 assets on cdnjs remained jQuery once again this month, totalling 14.3 billion
requests for all 10 jQuery files in the top 100.
The second most popular library this month, based on the top 100 assets, was FontAwesome with 12.2 billion requests
for the 9 FontAwesome files in the top 100, consuming a massive 380 TB in bandwidth for the requests to the files.
GSAP was the third most popular library overall, receiving 10.8 billion requests this month for its 19 files in the
top 100 assets on the CDN. WebFontLoader came in fourth place with 7.4 billion requests for the single file we've
already seen before, and jQuery MouseWheel in fifth with 4.1 billion requests for two files in the top 100.

Total number of requests
The first important stat that we are given is the total number of requests sent to cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
Cloudflare provides this number to us at a 1% sample for the whole month, giving 2,075,574,390 at 1%.
When multiplied up to 100%, this results in cdnjs serving approximately 207,557,439,000 requests in April.
Nearly 208 billion requests or around 6.9 billion requests each day of April. 📈
When comparing the per day requests, to ensure we account for different length months, we can see that there was a
slight fall this month as we went from 7.1 billion requests per day in March to only 6.9 billion per day this month.
Looking back a month further, we saw an average of 7.0 billion requests per day in February, so we're still very close
and in-line with what we'd expect with 6.9 billion per day. This still puts us ahead of where we were last year, when we
saw an average of 6.8 billion requests per day in December 2020.
Total bandwidth usage
Another great stat that Cloudflare has given us again is the bandwidth usage for the cdnjs.cloudflare.com domain.
This number, like total requests, is provided at a 1% sample for the month and in gigabytes: 37,774.95 GB.
When multiplied up to be 100%, this produces the estimate of 3,777,495.0 GB of bandwidth used for this month by
cdnjs, or 3.78 PB.
This gives cdnjs a massive bandwidth consumption of 3.78 petabytes of data for requests this month. 🤯
This month our bandwidth consumption tells a slightly different story from our requests, as they have increased when
compared to two months ago, going from 124.6 TB per day in February to 125.9 TB per day this month. However, compared to
last month this was a decrease, similar to with requests, as we went from 127.3 TB of bandwidth consumption per day on
average in March to only 125.9 TB this month.
