Hello @harlleysathler, thanks a lot for your appreciation. Glad you had success with engraving an image. Did you use protocol v3 or another one for interacting with the engraver? Of course, re-integrating the progress view is a goal. However, new features have to wait until the protocol v3 support is stable. Thanks a lot for your suggestion for directly inserting text. However, I feel it's a double-edged sword because of the following points:
I'm hesitant about such features since they direct EzGraver more and more to an image editing program which happens to have the feature of interacting with engravers. I may rethink my opinion (or implement it in a limited form) after fixing the support for protocol v3. The rulers are related to the feature requested in #32. |
Hi @camrein! Thank you for your repply! I could engrave using the protocol v3 (bought my engraver recently, I think it was manufactured in 2017. If you need any test or log or something I'll be happy in provide you with! Regarding the directly inserting text, I think anything like the original neje software (I consider it very primitive) is more than enogh, but as I'm not a developer I don't even imagine the amount of work necessary to get it done, so If you feel it's not a good direction to go, I agree! Oh, and the rulers! I've read the request #32! The mockup made by @GilDev is impressive! I don't know if that is possible, but... Wow! I read your explanation about the layers function and think in a suggestion (again, I'm not a developer, so I don't know if it's possible nor if it's viable): Is it possible to take the blackest layer, set the desired burn time and automatically calculate the more lighter layers burn time proportionaly to the blackest one? (ie: if the darker layer is 100% black and was engraved at a burn time value of 100 and the lighter layer is 50% black, then set the burn time automatically to 50). All in all, it's very good to talk to you and I'm very happy to be able to engrave with this machine from my Mac thanks to you great work! |
Yay for automatic size calculation! =D |
@harlleysathler I just brought NEJE DK-BL1500mw It work via their Android and Windows app but I'm on macOS so The question is how you make it work? Any step or screenshot would be nice, Thanks |
Hi! First of all, I would like to congratulate you for this amazing work! Despite the fact your software is the only one I can use to run this cheap engraver on Mac, it certainly is much better than the original windows only.
After digging with the drivers and protocol versions, I could engrave with my new DK-8-KZ.
Only things I miss so far is the engrave progress indication (absent from version 4.0.0 Beta, as indicated in release notes) and the directly text insert tool.
So, I would like to suggest you to include the option, on EzGraver (if not very difficult), to insert text on the image area, so for the times when all is needed is to engrave text, I can do it directly from EzGraver, instead of create the image of the text on another program and then import it to be burn.
Another suggestion is to include rulers on image area, to it's possible to get an approximate idea of the final size of the engrave job.
Thank you for your great work so far in this amazing piece of software!
Best regards,
Harlley
