Updating client ID

Is there a reason that the API disallows modification of the client ID? I see in the UI that editing is disabled, but the business logic shouldn't be enforcing UI validation if there is no harm being done by making the change.
Are we missing something?

The client ID is the primary key internally for storage and is also based on the tenant and product. Is there a specific reason you want to modify the client ID?
