If you have log level set to DEBUG then boto3 client should log retries or you can inspect the returned object and check the ResponseMetadata for the RetryAttempts count - https://boto3.amazonaws.com/v1/documentation/api/latest/guide/retries.html. Also you could monitor the cloudwatch metrics for throttles on your table. |

Hi,
As I understand it, boto3 does automatic exponential backoff when getting throttled by dynamodb.
That is fine and I dont want to change that behavior, but can I somehow log this trottling events? And/or detect these events after a call to i.E. dynamodb.get_item so that I can tell, how often the throtteling has happened?
