For each pioneer on your list, find a hi-resolution (min 250dpi or better) image of:

  • Ideally, a real photo of that pioneer!
  • If that's not possible, a drawing, painting, mosaic, or other interpretation
  • If that's not possible, a graphic that somehow describes their contribution

When printing to a poster, image quality and size is really important. We need HUGE image files, so you'll want to adjust the image search settings to focus on large files.

Just uploaded a folder containing the images for each pioneer on the list! Let me know if this folder is accessible.

Hi @rrajesh1 - apologies for the delay. Most of these images are way too small to be printed as posters (see the original issue text). Are these largest files you could find?

I did filter the google search, but perhaps I applied the wrong filter. I will go back through and try to see if there are larger pictures rather than the ones I chose. If not I will find alternatives.

These look like you're just right clicking on the Google thumbnails and downloading. Have you tried loading the actual image file itself?

How do I load the actual image file?

Click on the thumbnail, then click "view file" in the resulting sidebar

I tried loading the actual image files for a few of the pioneers and uploaded a new folder with these images, are theses sizes better?

@rrajesh1 MUCH better. One of the images is like 6kb, which is still way too small. But all the others are definitely in the ballpark of what we want (ideally, ~1MB or so). Sounds like you've got the process figured out, so all you need to do is rinse and repeat for the rest!

Thank you! Which of the images is too small?

Joan Clark is way too small. You have a few images there that are like ~100-200kb, which is juuuust enough. But in general, look for images that are around 1-5MB. If we want these to be poster-sized, we need HUGE images! :)

Sorry about the delay, I can give an update with the next batch by the end of the week. Is that ok? Thank you!

Just uploaded a folder with my current progress, let me know if any of these images won't work. Thank you!

@rrajesh1 a lot of these are MUCH better. But there are still quite a few that are way too small. In my earlier comment, I said we're looking for images 1-5MB in size. But your Alan Turing photo is only 7kb!

Images that are unusably small or pixelated:

Images that are probably usable, but really should be bigger/higher quality:

Got it, I will make these changes as soon as possible. I'll send an update by the end of the week.

Just pushed an update. I was unable to find larger images for Clarence Ellis or Thomas David Petite. Please let me know what I should fix if anything, thank you!
