abandoned ?

is this library now abandoned / deprecated ? There's a couple of PR's that have been hanging around for 3 years or so.

If so, is there another library that should be used instead ?

Hey, I have no immediate plans to work on this library, sorry. Also can't give you any advice on the replacement as I wasn't following the space for a few years. Let me know if you find some decent alternatives so I could update the readme.

I just coded an implementation using this library, so it definitely still works fine. I may open a pull request to fix some small documentation issues. Sometimes there's no need to change what isn't broken 😄
