Use case:

I have two values and their corresponding percentage, and I want to display the summary value in the footer. There's no issue with calculating the sum, but there is no way to correctly calculate the percentage, the available operations are the standard ones provided by Grafana.

By enabling the possibility to use variables in the footer, you could calculate the percentage in a variable and then insert it into the footer.
This was the reason for my request. If you have alternative suggestions on how to solve this issue, they are more than welcome. Thank you.
