No scroll bar when viewing details (grey box) with large amount of text I.e. emails

We have a number of emails where the text to display is long and when expanded takes up all the screen size. In the standard activity timeline component it uses a scroll bar rather than expanding the grey box to the size of the message.

Is it possible for grey area to scroll ?
