I was recently approached by someone that they tried to subscribe to my blog but they did not find a RSS/Atom feed button anywhere, while they (reasonably) expected one to be.
Of course, one can find it by looking at the HTML source, but that’s not what we should expect from our visitors (even that person who complained to me was very technically skilled).
As such I propose we produce a RSS/Atom feed link/icon at least for the main feed.
It would be cool to also have individual Category feeds next to the individual Category names in the All Categories view for those who would like to follow just a certain category of posts. E.g. someone would like to subscribe only to Pelican Elegant’s release notes, but not want to get an update for every time we add or change some documentation.
There is also the possibility to have feeds per Tag, but this is where I’m unsure whether we can make it visually clean. So I’m not sure if the (limited?) usefulness outweighs the visual clutter. Let’s discuss though. Personally I do use tag feeds, but only to use a certain tag to mark posts I want to go to a certain Planet/blog aggregator.
