Below are a list of steps I had to take to successfully compile on Ubuntu 12.10
(above and beyond the existing notes in INSTALL.txt).


#libboost instead of the several 1.42 directives in INSTALL, I had to do:
libboost1.50-all-dev

#libudev
sudo apt-get install libudev-dev

#thrift
git clone https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/thrift.git thrift
sudo apt-get install libtool
sudo apt-get install autoconf
cd thrift
./bootstrap.sh
./configure
make
make install


#rbgccxml
##Got this error doing sudo gem1.9.1 install rbgccxml
make
compiling xslt_stylesheet.c
compiling xml_relax_ng.c
compiling xml_xpath_context.c
xml_xpath_context.c: In function ‘xpath_generic_exception_handler’:

##This is caused the version of nokogiri in rbgccxml gem
