This happened to me, and i found how to change it, so this is the way:
If you deleted Visual Studio for some reason, and reinstall it, you can't change the shared components path.
Here's how to change it.
open Regedit
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Setup
change SharedInstallationPath to what you want
